The towing industry has an honesty problem, and everyone in it knows exactly why. You call when you are stressed. You have no way to compare prices. And by the time an invoice appears, your car is already on the back of a truck. That combination has funded a lot of bad behaviour.

We built AA Towing Services around removing every one of those pressure points. The price is quoted on the phone, before dispatch. The arrival time is the real one — including when the real one is ninety minutes because it is the first snow of the year and every truck in the county is out. If the job turns out to be different from what you described, you hear the new number and you decide.

None of that is clever. It is just what a service business is supposed to do. It only looks unusual next to how this industry often behaves.

What we actually run

Flatbeds and wheel-lifts, matched to the vehicle rather than to whatever happens to be nearest. AWD, low-clearance and non-rolling vehicles go on a deck, every time — sending a wheel-lift to an AWD car saves us ten minutes and can cost you a transfer case.

Our dispatchers are in Metro Detroit and know the difference between the I-696 trench and the Lodge at rush hour. You will not be describing your situation to a call centre in another state that then brokers the job to whoever bids lowest.

We also buy junk cars

If a car has been sitting in your driveway long enough that it has become part of the landscaping, we will buy it. Running or not, wrecked or rusted, keys or no keys. You get a firm number on the phone, we collect it at no charge, and the cash is in your hand before it goes on the deck. Most complete vehicles land between $250 and $700.

It is the same trucks and the same drivers, which is exactly why the pickup is free — collecting it costs us a vehicle we already own and a driver already on shift. Anyone charging you a removal fee for a complete car is charging you for something that has value.

Licensed and insured

Licensed & insured, 6+ years in, past 10,000+ jobs. Certificates of insurance are available on request, and we would encourage you to ask any tow operator for them — including us. Michigan regulates towing through the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, and an operator who cannot produce paperwork is telling you something.

Know your rights

If your vehicle is ever towed without your consent — and this is worth knowing whether or not you ever call us — Michigan law entitles you to retrieve your belongings, requires rate disclosure, caps what can be charged, and lets you challenge both the tow and the fees in district court. The Michigan Attorney General's office takes complaints. Most people are never told any of that.
